Vacant Position: Project Manager Bosnia and Hercegovina (m/f/d)

Forum Ziviler Friedensdienst / Forum Civil Peace Service (forumZFD) is a German civil society organization and a member of the Civil Peace Service (CPS) consortium that is active in the fields of peacebuilding, dealing with the past, conflict transformation and enhancing a culture of peace and nonviolence. It finances its work through public and private grants, donations, and membership fees. The organization is currently working with national and international peace consultants in Germany, as well as in 11 other countries in Europe, the Middle East and South East Asia. ForumZFD’s Western Balkans Programme is seeking a full-time Project Manager for initiating and implementing its activities in Bosnia and Hercegovina, based in the Sarajevo office. The programme involves forumZFD offices in the Western Balkans region (Serbia, Kosovo, North Macedonia and the Regional Office located in Belgrade), and the main approach is dealing with the past (DwP), working with local and regional partners through a range of activities focused on youth and educational actors, media and civil society organisations and cultural actors.

As a member of the Bosnia and Hercegovina Country Team and the Media and CSOs Regional Project Team, the candidate will perform the following duties:

 

  •  Actively participate in the Regional Project team Media & CSOs, implementing planned activities with partners, and working with the wider team to design, plan and develop future activities, which contribute to reaching regional and project goals
  • Network and coordinate with a range of media and civil society organisations to build and maintain effective partnerships within the respective country/region to initiate and implement collaborative peacebuilding activities
  • Coordinate forumZFD’s regional platform on dealing with the past including selecting and working with authors and contributors, as well as editors, proof-readers etc. to ensure that high-quality, well-researched, accurate blogs, media articles, podcasts, and other media content on a range of relevant topics are produced and published for forumZFD’s regional magazine Balkan.Perspectives, and for other media outlets and platforms
  • Design, develop, manage and support other activities (including planning, implementation, monitoring, steering, and finance controlling) related to dealing with past, transitional justice, memorialization, and peace building topics in Bosnia and Hercegovina in accordance with the regional strategy of forumZFD – this might include creating project-related products, e.g. exhibitions, researches, publications, video and audio materials, organizing and/or conducting trainings, workshops and conferences and working with and supporting other colleagues and project areas
  • Lead visibility related activities and participate in lobbying and advocacy efforts around transitional justice, on the national, regional and international level including developing policy papers and briefs
  • Actively participate in forumZFD fundraising efforts to local, regional and international donors
  • Monitor and report about project activities and results according to forumZFD internal Planning Monitoring & Evaluation (PM&E) standards and requirements
  • Maintain the forumZFD BiH FB page and other social media accounts/platforms

Requirements:

  • University degree in social science, humanities, or related field- postgraduate studies a plus;
  • A minimum of 5 years work experience in relevant fields - preferably, but not limited to DwP, transitional justice, peace building or related fields and of working with the media;
  • Experience in implementation of EU funded projects’ is an advantage, as well as experience in fundraising;
  • Thorough knowledge of the political and social environment, with a deep understanding of the challenges regarding the implementation of activities in the field of DwP in Bosnia and Hercegovina and the region;
  • Experience in project management, including planning, initiation, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and financial controlling in cooperation with civil society organizations, media, networks, movements and/or NGOs;
  • Experience in delivering training and facilitating meetings / workshops;
  • Excellent written and spoken command of English (office language), and BCS languages
  • Competent in the use of IT office applications and social media (Instagram, Facebook, webpage)
  • A valid driving license and a willingness to drive and travel through the region is essential

Our offer

  • The position is based in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Hercegovina
  • A full-time job (40 hours per week);
  • Salary in the range of 1.350 to 1.450 euros depending on relevant experience, social benefits, including 30 days annual leave;
  • Possibility of further education and development

Start of assignment
Ideally, you are available to start on March 1, 2024.
